Weston's 2-year photos...on the farm!

Funny thing how you sometimes you meet people in life and then you somehow run across them again totally unexpectedly.  That's what happened to us a little over 2 years ago when I was super-pregnant and attending Berea Homecoming with Rolland and some friends.  We were with a buddy of his from his dorm (back in the day) and he invited us to dinner at another couple's house.  We didn't really know where we were going, but we drove out there anyway and found ourselves at this couple's cute new, but with character, farmhouse just outside of Berea.  We were chatting as Liz, the hostess, was getting dinner ready and I was looking at some things she had on the table and realized she was a photographer, and for some funny reason my brain just thought..."crooked cake lady".  Weird, I know, but this "Liz" was Liz Thomas of Liz Thomas Photography...she was the person who 5 years prior I had asked to do our wedding photography in Berea, only to find out she had gotten pregnant and was unable shoot for us because she would be on maternity leave.  I was totally disappointed because I really like her style...and for some reason, her "crooked wedding cake" pictures really stood out in my mind.

Seeing how I was like 7 months pregnant with Weston, I had already had our maternity photos done with Marissa Noe in Lexington, who we loved so much that we booked our newborn, 6 month and 12 month sessions with right from the get-go.  But last spring Marissa had another baby of her own and took a little time to be with her cute little Lyla over the summer/fall, so I figured this would be the perfect time to go back and check out the Thomas Farm...which is really, Thousand Hills Farm and have Weston's 2-year photos done and a few Christmas card pictures of our family.  This was especially good timing since we were having Weston's tractor birthday party the day before our session.

Playing Peek-a-boo...

He may look cute, but he's chasing the kitty...

Birthday tribute...tractors and balloons

The only problem was that as we were driving to the farm, a huge, yucky-looking storm was rolling in...so that meant lots of wind (and for us ladies...crazy hair).  Liz asked if we had wanted to reschedule, but with work and the holidays, we were willing to just go with it and see what happened...what happened was really great.  Weston followed their little grey farm kitty all over the place, he had fun, and when it was almost over, he pulled himself up in a chair on the deck and pulled the table close and just said, "eat".  Herein signaling our exit to go to dinner...and then the rain started to pour.  We had a really great experience with Liz, her turnaround time was impeccable, and in a week and a half we had our professional photo CD in hand and another week later, I had Christmas cards in the mail...amazing.

This was when he climbed up in the chair to "eat", cute little beggar...
