Weston is 10 months old...

I'm in ICU again...NICU, and as before my blogging comes late.  Weston is 10 and a half months old now...oops (even later by the time this is actually posted).  It's an exciting time. He's proven to be quite a stinker this month, and he's in to everything!  He's not walking yet, but he is definitely getting anywhere he wants to go, and quick.  As much as I would love to put him in his pack and play and be able to fix dinner, it's almost impossible because he just doesn't want to be contained.  So, now I give in and throw a couple balls in the kitchen floor and I get to work while Weston chases balls around the room.

Last week we had a little surprise.  I got a call from school and Miss Michelle told me that she thought Weston had a ruptured ear drum because he had blood coming out of his ear : (   Now, as I mentioned, I'm in the unit this month and I can't exactly just leave and go get Weston in the middle of the day, so my awesome husband went and picked up Weston and took him to a clinic appointment to see Dr. Wells.  I told him to remind her that he was still having a terrible cough that seemed more junky despite me starting him on zyrtec a couple weeks before.  So, not only did little man have a ruptured ear drum, he was wheezing (again).  Boo...and I just usually blow off all those junky noises and never give him his albuterol because he never acts like it bothers him.  What kind of a terrible Pediatrician mommy am I?  Wells decided that little man should try an inhaled steroid for a couple months and see what happens, that maybe he has asthma vs. viral induced reactive airway disease.  Next thing I knew, Rolland was walking out of the pharmacy with Augmentin and and Rx for Flovent (they didn't want to fill it at first because our Pediatrician didn't write the lowest dose strength).  Crazy as it may seem, I haven't heard him cough or clear his throat in at least 4 days...so is it the Flovent, the antibiotics, or is the Zyrtec finally working?  Whichever way, I kind of like it...except that because of the antibiotics,Weston is flying through the clothes this week because he has been having huge watery poos...nice.

As far as foods go, Weston is starting to branch out on the cereal department. I'm still making pureed foods for the most part, he loves squash and sweet potatoes the best.  Rolland has given in to giving him Kix some times to keep him occupied.  I keep trying the meats, but Weston usually gags and shakes his head (again...little stinker).

He is getting so big.  When he turned 9 months I bought all 12 month PJ's...he wore them one time and they were already snug.  Now we're mostly putting him in 18 month clothes because I thought it wasn't really worth it to buy a whole bunch of 12 month clothes that he'll wear for a few weeks.  Now I resolve to roll up his sleeves and pant legs.
