9 month well child check

Last week Weston had his 9-month check-up. Things are going great and he is growing like crazy. Weston tipped the scales at just under 22 pounds (21 and 15.6 ounces). He was right at the 70th percentile...contrary to the belief of many who thought he'd be bigger. His head was another story though...90th percentile! Either he'll have big brains or he'll have his daddy's big noggin'. I'm guessing both. Weston's length was 29 1/4 inches -75th percentile.

His little hemangioma on his toe looks like it maybe starting to regress...it's starting to have a little central clearing now (which is normal when they start to go away).

Weston is already becoming an expert at crawling...even if it is kind if gimpy. He's pulling up to stand (his favorite place to stand is at the bar stool...which he can pull and push around if he tries).

As far as foods go, he has decided that turkey makes him vomit - nice. Chicken is good, deer roast is good...egg yokes were a no go so far, but we'll try again. We have found that we can sort of have an enjoyable dinner if we feed Weston a little dinner, and then we put something he can feed himself on his tray - usually bread or noodles or beans...this keeps him busy and is usually messy, but hey - a peaceful dinner is worth it.  Sometimes he just decides that he's too tired for dinner at all and in this case, he just fusses and styles his hair with his food...see the picture for details.

At his most recent check-up, Weston received this reach-out-and-read (ROR) book...I caught a picture of him playing with it this morning...cute little stinker. He mostly just wants to eat the books, but that's what board books are for, right?  He's way too distracted to ever listen to me read a book to him, but we try.

When Weston was born one of the girls from Rolland's office gave him this little wildcat costume.  It's a 9-month costume and Weston is quickly outgrowing his 9-month clothes, so Rolland dressed him up in this just for fun...Go Cats!
