Little man is almost 1! With the exception of Weston being sick with ear infections back to back in the last month, he is getting to be such a cute little stinker...the other day he started to do this thing where he will look at you and raise his eyebrows in a very funny and curious way...I love it and it always makes me laugh! He's still cutting those top 4 teeth, so his smile is cute and silly. Because of being sick and on antibiotics so much we have a set-back with foods almost every time he is sick...he starts to refuse foods and really doesn't want to try news solids. I did cave the other day and try to give him a peanut butter sandwich in order to get some more protein in him. It went over well the first time, but if we miss the window of opportunity for dinner (5-6pm) then he's just too crabby and refuses to eat anything, so we've resorted to having daycare give Weston dinner if we can't pick him up by 5:30 or so.
As for Halloween, Weston was a fireman...he got to dress up for school, but since I was on call, there was no trick-or-treating to be had. He was pretty darn cute, but he didn't like wearing that hat at all.
I'm racking my brain trying to decide what to do for Weston's birthday...party, no party...presents, no presents (I mean really...I can wrap an empty box). What I can't wait for is to see him try to eat cake for the first time. This picture is proof that he has an interesting take on eating (bananas and toast hair gel, anyone?). It's kind of hard to plan a party so close to a holiday...Weston's birthday is November 28th...the Monday after Thanksgiving. So, if we try to plan a party, will everyone be too busy eating leftover turkey and Black Friday shopping to come by, or will our house be too full from hosting family for our own holiday dinner to try to have any semblance of fun? Hmm...well, I only have about 3 weeks to figure it out I guess. I just can't believe he's almost a year old.

Developmentally, Weston is finally clapping his hands and giving "fives"...I'm not sure why it took so long for him to catch on, but it's so cute. Now anytime I say "yay Weston" or "good job" he starts to clap his little hands...I love it! He's getting pretty close to walking too...watch out world. He transfers from furniture pieces that are pretty far apart and he definitely takes a little step in faith. He can even take a few steps just holding on to one finger of mine when he's determined enough. And my new unfavorite thing? Separation anxiety :( I warn parents about this at their 9 month visit when I see them in clinic and I just never think these things should apply to my own baby. Now every time I leave the room Weston starts screaming...even if Rolland is sitting right next to him. How's a mommy to get a break?
