It's hard to believe our little baby is already 2 months old. We're still lucky to get a 4 hour stretch of sleep once in a while, so forgive me if my memory seems a little cloudy...studies show you retain memories in your sleep, and -well...now you know.
Baby G had his 2-month check up this week with Dr Doyle, my former pediatric partner. He weighed in at 11 pounds 12.9 ounces (50th percentile) and length 23 inches (50th percentile), with a 25th percentile head...much smaller than Weston's by this point. He's finally cooing, smiling (on purpose) and generally happier in life...but mostly that's just for the nanny and not when I'm home. So far I've been a milk machine again...this baby hasn't had to have an ounce of formula yet and I have 40+ 6-oz bags of milk in my freezer already- despite being on vacation and freezing none for 2 weeks.
I've been back to work a whole week. A little crazy my first day back....forgot my badge (which lets me in the doors), forgot my password (which didn't matter anyway since the internet was down for half the day), and we had packed schedules (which meant paper charting and no growth charts)...did I mention it was also my partner's first day back from maternity leave too? Thankfully it was Monday and we had a few no-shows. Our nanny did great this week, until Friday when the toddler started to be a complete turd to her. Hopefully next week will start back better again. I hate to wish away the toddler's years, but geesh will I ever be glad then the non-sense, whining, tear-shedding days are over...or at least not happening every 30 minutes. Maybe I need to read more books and blogs on how to have happier kids...if I ever have time to read again.
