Now that Weston is 6 months old, he has been trying some new foods...it's going to be a fun journey because everything I warn parents about when starting solids...actually happens. Weston took to rice cereal fine...he likes it pretty well. Next we tried avocados on recommendation from a website that my friend Daisy sent to me (wholesomebabyfood.com)...Despite the smiling picture above, he really acted like he didn't like it. I first tried just giving him the avocado itself in a spoonful, but he made the worst sour faces...next I tried to mix with the rice cereal which he ate a few bites of, then he just stopped eating all together as if in refusal. I am going have to try again in a few days and see what happens. Next, Weston tried peas and he actually seems to like them pretty well...but if I just offer the peas first before the cereal - he looks at me like "what the heck was that, mom?" My next grocery trip will be to find some baby friendly foods, so if you have any good suggestions, feel free to let me know. This will be a fun adventure.
I'm in the ER this month, so Rolland is going to be taking care of Weston a lot. He texted me this picture the other day of Weston holding his bottle for the first time (he's a pretty lazy baby when it comes to this). I'd never seen him try because now when I'm home I nurse him. Weston's school told us a week or so ago that he could hold his bottle and I didn't believe it...now I have the proof, he was just holding out on us. Last week the AC went out at school for a couple hours and it got really hot in there, so the ladies gave Weston a sippy cup with water in it for the first time too which he totally did fine with. ...So many new things, even though they're little things, I hate that I sometimes miss them.
