This little guy's time on earth has run away from me...somehow I managed to get some cute pictures of him this month...thanks to my tips from my Beginners Photography Class. This boy is huge...as I look back over his 8th month, he has grown a ton...I can't wait to see what he weighs in at for his 9-month checkup. I washed up all the 18 month clothes we had from big brother, some of them are still snug.
Grant definitely likes his food...I think I'm much more brave at advancing solids with this one. Grant ate rotisserie chicken baked potato and green beans mashed with a fork tonight...he likes big people food. Don't get me wrong, he'll eat the baby food, yogurt, meats, puffs, but try to eat without him and he'll be ticked!
So as far as motion goes, he loves to jump in the jumper...he learned to scoot backward on his head last month, but now he has FORWARD MOTION! Time to baby proof again and get big brother on board with keeping small toys off the floor. It's tough because he went from scooting to lurching to army crawling in about 48 hours. And then there was this morning...when I found him sitting up in his bed screaming at 4:20 am. So Rolland lowered the crib mattress tonight! I had never even seen him get to sitting before this.
Sleep is getting better. I finally decided that my sumo baby didn't need to eat I the middle of the night, and gently tried to cut him off. I of all moms know that this 8-month old overweight baby does not need to nurse or take a bottle in the middle of the night. So, in preparation for a night out of town and an overnight stay for the kids with our nanny, I decided to let him "cry it out". It wasn't the smoothest transition, but by the time we went out of town he did at least sleep 6 hours for her without a bottle and only woke up and cried for a couple minutes at midnight before he went back to sleep. Me? I'm ruthless...I turn the volume off on the monitor when I go to bed and I only look at the camera when I wake up and hear him screaming down the hall...usually he's fine and anything before 4am is a ploy. I don't remember Weston feeding so much in the night, but maybe I blocked it out.
These are m favorites from playing with my camera!
