Weston is four months old!

Little big man at 4 months
I'm sure I sound like every mom when say that I can't believe my baby is already 4 months old...he's growing so fast and time is flying by. I remember the day he was born, the first day I took him to school, his first set of shots...it all so clear right now, and I don't want to forget anything. Like the way Weston giggles getting in the tub, and his new-found crazy, happy scream that he does - Aahhh! I love it, and I wish I could bottle those sounds up and save them for the nights he refuses to go to sleep and screams in a very different tone. Weston doesn't have his well child check until next week, but when we went to the doctor for a sick visit a week and a half ago he weighed in at a whopping 14 pounds. Which brings me to my next thought...no one told me how fast these babies grow...Weston can barely wear any of his 3 month clothes anymore. He fits a little too perfect in most of the six month clothes, and I have some outfits in his closet that he never got to wear at all before I put them in a box for the next baby (I guess it better be a boy, or she's gonna have to wear a lot of boy clothes). Learning to blow raspberries

We've been learning a lot of new things since last month.  Yesterday Weston rolled over from his belly to his back for the first time...I know, it might seem kind of lazy, but hey, he doesn't get to do a lot of tummy time at home...but when he does, he gets mad enough to know he likes life better on his back.  As you can see from this picture, he likes to blow raspberries now.  We're still feeding him pumped breast milk, no solid foods yet.  For one, I don't really think he's ready yet...he just did get good control of his head in the past couple weeks, and is just starting to hold good trunk tone (which is nice, because now I can carry him on my hip).  The AAP recommends exclusive breast feeding until 6 months of age...we'll see if Weston develops any interest in food before then. Right now, not so much.

He's just becoming so much more fun, a definite personality now.  And although he looks just like daddy, he acts like mommy :) Weston is a morning person for sure, and he's grumpy when he's hungry or tired (I guess that makes me sound like a baby, but hey...they have the life).  It's getting harder to go places because Weston sleeps less and less during the day, and doesn't like to be in his carseat as much now.  Aside from his hands, Weston doesn't really have a favorite toy yet...he does like the little lovey blanket I made him though, and tries to eat it.

We're finally all trying to get healthy again at our house.  Weston had his first infection and just finished his first round of amoxicillin for an ear infection...I say the first because I'm sure he'll have more - dang daycare.  And the cough is getting better, but it's still there (all of us really...sucks at night).  Weston's cross-eyed looks are gone...no more esotropia since he turned 3 months, so no trip to the ophthalmologist hopefully.  Sleep is getting better.  Little man's bedtime is still about 8:00, but these last few days his eating schedule has been screwed up so we've been letting him nap until 9pm and then feeding him his last bottle before bed.  The nice thing is that he tends to sleep longer this way...the last 2 nights he has slept until 5 and 5:30am. Usually Weston has only been sleeping through the night about once a week though, so I don't really count on this...I just act surprised and happy when it does happen.  I love this little man...so cute.
